2011-12 Mission Funding – WSF Continues to Set Record Pace in Giving
Despite the anemic economy, through the generosity of Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) members, exhibitors, donors, and auction buyers, WSF continues to set an aggressive mission funding pace with more than $3.5 million put on the ground this during the July, 2011 – June, 2012 fiscal year.
WSF raised and put on the ground more than $3.091 million to state, provincial, tribal and federal agencies; more than $253,000 to Industry Support initiatives; more than $50,000 to education and advocacy programs; $100,000 to international conservation initiatives; and $65,000 to disease research and habitat restoration totaling $3,560,787.00 to mission programs during the fiscal year which ends June 30th.
“Global economic challenges have not prevented WSF from again raising and contributing more to mission programs and on the ground projects per member than most like organizations could ever dream. This ability to fund our mission and purpose at exceptional levels is due to the generosity of our members and donors” stated Gray N. Thornton, the Foundations President & CEO. “We raised and contributed more than a half million dollars more during the 2011-2012 fiscal year than we did in 2010-2011 – a 17% increase” Thornton added.
