WSF’s international awards recognize the hunting accomplishments of our members who promote ethical hunting and ethical behavior. The Mountain Monarchs Award recognizes outstanding international trophies harvested by our members. To laud the achievements of outfitters and guides who epitomize the honor and dignity of their profession, WSF confers the International Outfitter of the Year and the International Guide Award.
INTERNATIONAL OUTFITTER OF THE YEAR
This award is reserved for those International Outfitters who are recognized as icons in their profession. To be considered for the award, an International outfitter must:- Be a member of WSF
- Have contributed significantly to WSF, hunting, and/or conservation
- Enjoy a sterling reputation within the hunting community, WSF, and the International Outfitting community.
This award will only be given if warranted. No more than one award will be given in a year. The selection process and timelines associated with this award are as follows. Nominations will be solicited from the WSF membership and provided to the International Awards Committee no later than four (4) months prior to the convention. The International Awards Committee will select a winner and forward their recommendation to the Board for final approval. The selection and Board approval is to be completed three (3) months prior to the convention. In general, we will require the awardee to be present at the convention to receive the award. This timeline gives us three (3) months to contact the person to ensure they will attend and to make alternate plans if they will not.

INTERNATIONAL GUIDE OF THE YEAR
This award is reserved for those International Guides who are recognized as icons within the international hunting community. To be considered for the award a guide must be recommended by a member of the WSF and cannot be an outfitter. In selection of a winner the following will be considered:- A commitment to high ethical standards and sportsmanship
- The esteem in which the guide is held by the hunting community and his/her peers
- The willingness to go the last mile to ensure a quality hunting experience for his/her clients
- Knowledge of the country that he/she hunts and the wild game animals in habiting that country
- An unfailing sense of humor
- A high work ethic and dedication to the health, safety, and well-being of his/her clients.
