Outstanding Conservationist


Purpose: The Outstanding Conservationist Award is presented to WSF members, non-members, or organizations for their outstanding, exemplary, and long-term contributions to wild sheep conservation and management. Recipients will have made a lasting legacy to the wild sheep resource.

Criteria: Awardees are members, non-members, or organizations who/which have made significant, impactful, measurable, and durable contributions to wild sheep conservation and management, at the local, regional, national, and/or international scale, over an extended period of time.

Nomination Process: Nominations are solicited from the WSF membership, WSF Chapters & Affiliates, WSF Conservation Committee and WSF Professional Resource Advisory Board (PRAB). At least three (3) Letters of Support from WSF members, Chapters & Affiliates, Conservation Committee members, and/or PRAB members should be submitted along with all nominations.

Selection Process: A committee is appointed by the WSF Board of Directors on an annual basis. The committee determines the winner(s); WSF Board approval is not required.

Nomination Deadline: Nominations are due by November 1st.
