Grant-in Aid Update – Tri-State Test & Remove
This multi-jurisdictional adaptive management project builds on previous research and management experiments to use “test and remove” to clear M.ovi from ailing bighorn sheep populations ranging in size from 55 – 425 sheep in four areas over three years.
Bighorn Restoration in Nebraska
In September 2022, the Nebraska Game & Parks Commission successfully captured, tested, collared, and released 28 bighorn sheep in the Wildcat Hills as part of a two-phase project to enhance the state's bighorn sheep population. The project was funded in part by the Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF), its Chapters and Affiliates, and other conservation partners.

A serious downturn in Alaska’s Dall’s sheep population linked to extreme climate events has raised concerns among hunter-conservationists and wildlife managers.
This inspired the Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) to host an Alaska Dall’s Sheep Strategy Meeting at the 2023 Sheep Show in Reno, NV.
