HELP SAVE COLORADO BIGHORNS
WSF is acting as the tax-deductible fiduciary in this community-driven fund-raising effort to help the Town of Vail purchase a 23-acre parcel of crucial bighorn winter range to keep it from being developed for housing. This acreage will be combined with another 123 acres owned by the Town of Vail and ultimately protected in perpetuity via a conservation easement.

Moving Forward in Mongolia and Kazakhstan
Mongolia, where thoughts of wild places, wild things, and of course, Chinggis Khaan (Genghis Khan) can dwell in our imaginations.
Mongolia is the 19th largest country in the world, with one of the least dense populations, about 3.5 million people. They have approximately 90 million livestock, including sheep, goats, cattle, yaks, horses, and camels. Argali has two recognized subspecies: Altai Argali (Ovis ammon ammon) and Gobi Argali (Ovis ammon darwini). A third, Khangai Argali (Ovis ammon darwini), is non-taxonomic based on horn size and distribution and is intermediate between Altai and Gogi Argali (CIC Caprinae Atlas of the World, Gerhard R Damm, and Nicolás Franco). The Altai Argali is considered the largest wild sheep in the world!

Socorro BLM Field Office Guzzlers Los Ojos Wildlife Water Disturbed Area Rehab & Erosion Control
The Polvadera Mountains of south-central New Mexico are on BLM-managed public lands, ~9 miles north of Socorro. During the spring 2023 construction of the Los Ojos guzzler/water system, the work site was unavoidably disturbed and needed to be reclaimed.
