SHEEP WEEK®, The Experience – A new horizon in hunter-conservationist shows
Bozeman, Montana. November 13, 2020. The Wild Sheep Foundation’s pivot and recalibration into a virtual convention is progressing on schedule for the January 11 – 16, 2021 event.
“Good thing we started planning for this contingency back in June,” explained Gray N. Thornton, president, and CEO. “Talk about starting with a blank piece of paper, or should I say blank screen. It’s been an interesting journey getting the answers to all our questions. No one in our space has ever done anything like this before. Now we have the answers and the proper solutions to deliver a best-in-class experience.”
Sheep Week® will have all the trimmings of past Sheep Shows®, including auctions and raffles broadcast live online, chances to win sheep hunts, and outdoor adventure gear. There will be multiple exhibit halls with virtual exhibitor booths, auditoriums to learn, and lounges to connect with other mountain game hunters and share.
Thornton said, “We’re not trying to replace the Sheep Show® as much as we are staying the course for wild sheep conservation and not folding out tents because we can’t have our annual in-person events. We are excited to show everyone the look and features of this new virtual gathering. I’m certainly impressed with what technologies are available today to make this an experience like we’ve never seen before and the opportunity to welcome more people to the Wild Sheep Family.”
Unlimited access attendee registration will be available online beginning November 15.
“It’s going to a bit of like Sheep Show® the home game,” Thornton concluded. “You get to move around and check out what’s behind this door and in that room. Everyone will come away with something they’re looking for, plus a few surprises. And you can go at your own pace because past this week in January, our virtual platform will be up, running, and available for another month afterward.”
