LIMITATIONS ARE ONLY WHAT YOU ALLOW THEM TO BE: A STORY OF PURPOSE AND FRIENDSHIP IN SHEEP COUNTRY.
If you attended the 2023 Sheep Show®, you might have had the privilege of seeing or meeting medically retired Marine Jonathon Blank. His story and that of his mountain goat hunt with Cole Kramer inspired us all, so much so that one of our members decided he needed to go on a sheep hunt. We presented this gift to him on stage during our Saturday Grand Finale banquet to a standing ovation. This is the film from his hunt. You will see how the title of the film has many meanings.
A veteran of the United States Marine Corps and Purple Heart recipient, Jonathon Blank embodies the shared resilience of our armed service members. During his service, Jonathon sustained injuries that resulted in the loss of both his legs. Throughout his recovery, Jonathon searched for something that replicated the brotherhood, comradery, and adventure he’d experienced as a Marine. He found what he was looking for in hunting. In the company of fellow Kansan, Cole Kramer, Jonathon took to the mountains of the Northwest Territories, home to an animal many hunters dream of, the Dall's sheep. With the help of a few friends, Together We Carry On follows Jonathon’s journey to create new memories and meaning in his life.
