Ram Lay-Away Program

With sheep hunting being the pinnacle of big game hunting in North America, it's no surprise that this limited and tightly controlled wildlife resource is the most expensive to pursue on a guided hunt. And like everything else of low supply and high demand, prices keep going up. WSF’s Ram Lay-Away^TM is a new pathway for getting more first-time sheep hunters on the mountain.

 
We save up for the things we dream of having or doing, but rarely will someone else pick up the tab for half to get you all the way there. That’s Ram Lay-Away. Even if your bank or credit union could, going on a dream sheep hunt would be a tough sell. We understand the passion and desire, and we’ve listened to those “someday” wishes.
 
The planning and anticipation for a hunt can be just as important and meaningful as the hunt itself. It's always fulfilling to work towards something you're passionate about, and this program was designed to support that journey and much more. Welcome to Ram Lay-Away!

The Wild Sheep Foundation’s Ram Lay-Away Program provides qualified first-time sheep hunters with an opportunity to book a sheep hunt and hunt via a subsidized deferred deposit plan. WSF will contribute $15,000 towards the cost of a hunt, which will be paid to the approved outfitter.

Once an applicant is approved and the hunt is chosen, they will make a deposit of one-third of the hunt to WSF. The second third is due 18 months from booking. The final payment is due 60 days prior to hunt start date.

If you are interested in applying for 2025, please complete this application and submit to the Julie Tripp, no later than March 1, 2025. Applications need to be submitted three years prior to the desired hunt year.
