WSF Advocacy

WSF’S FOCUS IS PROPOSING AND SUPPORTING BENEFICIAL POLICIES AND LEGISLATION AND THWARTING HARMFUL POLICIES OR LEGISLATION, IN THESE AREAS:  

  • Disease transmission and domestic sheep grazing allotments.
  • Ensuring access to federal public lands to conduct wild sheep management programs, including new national monument and wilderness area designations.
  • Collaborative partnerships with land and wildlife agency partners, including Native American tribes and their wild sheep management programs.
  • Opportunities for habitat improvements, including mitigations from energy development, mining, feral horses and burros, and wildfires.
  • Wildlife migration corridors.
  • Federal and state funding of wildlife conservation.
  • Sportsmen’s and hunting heritage protections. 


Our mission is one of many in the American Wildlife Conservation Partnership (AWCP) that carries on Hunting Heritage in North America. The Wild Sheep Foundation has been part of AWCP since its beginning in 2000.
