The Chair’s Award recognizes a WSF member, individuals, or a group for their outstanding contributions to the Foundation, including WSF’s mission, convention and programs, and their work strengthening wild sheep populations, supporting wildlife conservation or honorably serving the hunting and conservation community. The winner of this award is selected by the current Chair of the Wild Sheep Foundation’s Board of Directors.
In 2026, the Wild Sheep Foundation's Chair Charlie Kelly selected Rinehart-Newlon Water Catchment Project to be the recipients of the Chair's Award. The plaque reads:
The Wild Sheep Foundation recognizes the extraordinary partnership between James & Patti Rinehart, Keith Newlon, the Arizona Desert Bighorn Sheep Society and the Wild Sheep Foundation that made the completion of this project benefiting Wild Sheep in the West Harcuvar Mountains in Arizona a reality.
