Women in Hunting Community

Women in Hunting Crew at the 2025 Sheep Show Beer and Bubbly Event

Women in Hunting

Our Women in Hunting® community is an exciting and vibrant component of our program where women who embrace wildlife conservation and the critical role hunters play in it engage with each other. Join us to build relationships, access opportunities and resources, develop strength and knowledge, and celebrate and support one another.

Every fall we invite all women of any age to join the women in hunting community by uploading your photos and a short story of yourself doing what you love in the outdoors. Submissions open October 15, 2026 - January 15, 2027.

The Women in Hunting community is a subset of the Wild Sheep Foundation’s Women Hunt program. We celebrate with 1,000+ of our Sheep Show friends annually at the Beer & Bubbly Social Hour, sponsored by the New Mexico Wild Sheep Foundation.

We received hundreds of story and photo submissions from women of all ages highlighting what they love to do most in the outdoors. Each one was entered into free drawings for fabulous prizes from our partners at Weatherby, Mathews Bow, Silencer Central, Alaska Fur Gallery, Twisted North Design, the Peppermill Resort, Nocona Belt Co., and members of the Women Hunt committee.

To enjoy more of our community’s submissions, join the rest of our followers on Instagram and Facebook and check out the stories every #womenhuntwednesday.

FTW/Women Hunt Field to Fork Course

FTW/Women Hunt Field to Fork

About the Program

Women are the fastest-growing segment of the hunting and shooting community and are no strangers to the FTW Ranch and our best-in-class SAAM educational offerings. From precision rifle, handgun, shotgun, first-aid, and field to fork hunter skills training, FTW/SAAM has been empowering women, and men, through knowledge and hands-on training to better themselves in the field and on the range to “Make Your First Shot Count.”

For five years now FTW/SAAM and Wild Sheep Foundation’s (WSF) Women Hunt® Program have partnered to offer FTW’s Field to Fork course to twelve new women hunters annually. More than 100 women apply every year for this Women Hunt® fully sponsored and underwritten FTW delivered offering. Women Hunt’s Mission is to Engage – Educate – Empower – Inspire and FTW’s transformative training helps them to do just that.

As an expansion of the FTW, WSF, & Women Hunt partnership, we are pleased to announce a NEW addition to FTW’s Field to Fork program. A women-only Field to Fork course licensed under the Women Hunt® banner.

If you want to learn life-changing hunting and shooting skills, while supporting wildlife conservation, our hunting heritage, and engage, educate, empower, and inspire more women to enter the hunting and conservation community, then this is it! A portion of the course fees will go directly to the Women Hunt Program to help inspire more new women hunters, and their families embark on their own journeys afield!

The FTW/Women Hunt Field to Fork course provides new female hunters, as well as experienced hunters wanting to improve their skills, a safe, empowering, and hands-on educational environment for women and amongst women.

From rifle shooting training, in-the-field hunting skills, processing your harvest, to kitchen preparation of healthy, delicious, organic, self-sourced protein meals for the table, including great recipes you can make right at home, this is the course for you. Join us!

Our first scheduled class for the women-only FTW/Women Hunt Field to Fork partnership is scheduled for December 11-16, 2026. Guests arrive December 11th at the FTW Ranch for this immersive 5-Night/4-Day course and depart December 16th. Suitable for all experience levels and ages 12+.
