Submission Guidelines, Rules, and Regulations

The Annuli Photo Contest is intended for the AMATEUR photographers only, allowing the photographer a fair arena to compete with his/her peers.

  1. Photographers entering this contest must have an account on the Wild Sheep Foundation website (free).
  2. Image Specifications:
    1. Accepted file formats include: JPEG, PNG, and TIF files.
    2. Images must be high resolution (thumbnails and screenshots not accepted)
  3. The following categories are open for submissions:
  • Live Sheep (North America and International)
  • Hunter with Trophy (does not have to be sheep)
  • Hunter in Field
  • Open Category (images that don’t fit in the other categories)
  1. AI or Photoshopped (beyond typical editing) photos are not acceptable. Overly manipulated images may be disqualified at the judges’ prerogative.
  2. Please limit your number of entries to five (5) per category.
  3. Do not submit an image in more than one category, including the open category. Duplicates will be removed.
  4. The deadline for submissions in December 31, annually.

JUDGING

Judging will be conducted by select WSF staff and outside experts, as needed. The judges panel will evaluate all valid entries. The top three (3) Finalists will be selected within each category by the judges panel, who will also determine the top ten (10) images within each category to be eligible for the People’s Choice Award. These forty (40) images will then be posted to our voting website for our audience to vote on their the People’s Choice winner. The People’s Choice winner will be revealed on stage during the Saturday Grand Finale Banquet at Sheep Show.

YOUR RIGHTS AND LICENSING

You will retain the copyright to any entry that you submit to the Photo Contest. For any photograph you submit to the Annuli Photo Contest, you grant the Wild Sheep Foundation and its affiliates, as well as the third-party sponsors, a fully paid up, royalty-free, non-exclusive right in perpetuity to:

  • Display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the photograph, in any media now or hereafter known, including but not limited to:
    • On WSF and the Photo Contest submission websites
    • On the Internet, via email, and on social media
    • Internal and external communications materials including but not limited to websites and web publications, newsletters, event programs, catalogs, marketing materials and Wild Sheep magazine.
