Aibat Muzbay Joins WSF as Central Asia Specialist, International Programs

The Wild Sheep Foundation has named Aibat Muzbay of Kazakhstan as Central Asia Specialist for its International Programs. He will lead regional wild sheep and goat conservation efforts under Kurt Alt, WSF’s International Program Conservation Director. In this role, Muzbay will support argali restoration in Kazakhstan and strengthen regional conservation frameworks and sustainable-use programs across Central Asia.

Wild Sheep Foundation Welcomes New Chairman and Director

“We’re pleased to have these solid and dedicated wild sheep family members on our Board,” said Gray N. Thornton, the President and CEO of the Wild Sheep Foundation. "With all that’s going well for wild sheep, they’re not without challenges in some jurisdictions. That puts more on our plate. Getting Wildlife Safely to Quality Food

The Wild Sheep Foundation strongly supports today’s boost in federal funds for big game migration habitat. Nearly $10 million in federal, private, and tribal funds were announced today after the Make America Beautiful Commission meeting. The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation will award funds to projects through its competitive proposal program, the Western Big Game Seasonal Habitat and Migration Corridors Fund.

WSF Special Service & Hunting Awards Given at Sheep Show

At this past Sheep Show, the Wild Sheep Foundation presented several awards for service to conservation and mountain game hunting. “These heroes of wild sheep conservation and hunting deserve to be recognized. Their dedication and contributions this past year and over a lifetime have not gone unnoticed, nor will they be forgotten,” said Charlie Kelly, Board Chair of the Wild Sheep Foundation.
