ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIGHORN SOCIETY SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Domestic Sheep Conflict Resolution - In coordination with federal land managers, the RMBS and our partner organizations negotiate with producers to retire livestock grazing allotments on public lands that experience chronic conflict. We currently have an agreement in place to retire 5 high risk allotments totaling 75,000 acres in the San Juan Mountains. The local bighorn herd is managed for less than 400 bighorn sheep due to risk of contact with domestics, despite habitat to support more than 1,000. Email Megan to sponsor today.
