The Wild Sheep Foundation is partnering with Jamma International and Conservation Visions to host a Pavilion where we will present case studies and conduct panel discussions at the International Union for Conservation of Nature World Conservation Congress, held this month in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

During the recent Sheep Show® in Reno, NV, The Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) and Mongolia Wildlife Association (MWA) signed a landmark agreement where WSF would supply the horn plugs, drill bits, and training to the MWA. The MWA will implement horn plugging per their MOU with the Ministry. This collaboration marked an important step in conservation, focusing on implementing horn-plugging for the legal harvest of argali, the largest wild sheep and a prized game animal for international hunters.

A familiar figure emerges as the day begins on a jagged, rocky peak. Silhouetted by the sun, its muscular body supports a head held high with deep, curling horns that can only be a mountain sheep. But this one is far bigger than a record-class Dall's sheep or even the heaviest Rocky Mountain bighorn.

This is truly a special place, from massive ibex and unusual saiga antelope to regal markhor and multiple species of argali, the planet's largest wild sheep. And it is home to a growing mountain wildlife conservation movement aided by the Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF).
