Each year at the Sheep Show, hunters, outfitters, conservation leaders, and wildlife officials gather not only to celebrate wild sheep, but also to address the practical realities of how international conservation and lawful hunting intersect.

Conservation interests often begin long before careers and research projects. They start with curiosity. That curiosity was on full display in Reno, Nevada, during the Youth Wildlife Conservation Experience, a hands-on education program hosted by the Wild Sheep Foundation as part of its annual Sheep Show.
 

Each year at the Wild Sheep Foundation’s (WSF) Sheep Show, the spotlight shines on the wild sheep themselves, on the mountains they inhabit, and on the conservation successes that keep them there. But behind the scenes, two of the most important gatherings take place in a quieter setting: the Wildlife Professionals Meeting and the WAFWA Wild Sheep Initiative Meeting.
 

The Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) concluded its 49th annual convention, The Sheep Show®, on January 24th in Reno, NV, raising a record amount of funding and optimism for wild sheep conservation in North America and internationally.

At this past Sheep Show, the Wild Sheep Foundation presented several awards for service to conservation and mountain game hunting. “These heroes of wild sheep conservation and hunting deserve to be recognized. Their dedication and contributions this past year and over a lifetime have not gone unnoticed, nor will they be forgotten,” said Charlie Kelly, Board Chair of the Wild Sheep Foundation.

The Wild Sheep Foundation salutes its industry and conservation partners for sponsoring the Foundation's 49^th annual SHEEP SHOW Convention and Expo. The event will be held in Reno, Nevada, from January 22 to January 24, 2026.

Bozeman, Montana. September 3, 2025. The Wild Sheep Foundation has again partnered with Montana-based MTNTOUGH for another TOUGH SHEEP workout for the upcoming 2026 Sheep Show® in Reno. TOUGH SHEEP is a physical workout event for anyone looking to test their conditioning or add to their fitness routine that best simulates the rigors of a sheep hunt.

During the recent Sheep Show® in Reno, NV, the Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) welcomed over 3,000 young people and their families to its annual Youth Wildlife Conservation Experience (YWCE).

With the Sheep Show just over the next ridge, Sheep Fever hosts Gray Thornton and Keith Balfourd sat down with Mike Schoby of Field Ethos to discuss what’s new and what to expect at the Show, what our new partner, donor, and exhibitor Field Ethos has in store, and announce a special featured auction item.

In this episode of Sheep Fever, co-host Keith Balfourd visits with Mountain Tough Fitness Lab founder Dustin Diefenderfer to learn more about their specific fitness programs for mountain athletes and the new TOUGH SHEEP workout scheduled for the 2025 Sheep Show in Reno on January 17th.
