BOZEMAN, Mont. — The Wild Sheep Foundation (WSF) has received a cash grant from the MidwayUSA Foundation to support its youth shooting sports and Shooting, Hunting & Ethics Education Program (S.H.E.E.P.).
The funding will help offset costs associated with ammunition, targets, shooting event entry fees, travel, program administration and other expenses, helping WSF provide more young people with hands-on opportunities to develop shooting skills, learn firearm safety and understand the responsibilities that come with hunting and wildlife conservation.
“This grant from the MidwayUSA Foundation will have a lasting impact on our youth programs by creating exceptional opportunities for young people to experience the shooting sports, learn safe and ethical hunting practices, and develop a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors,” said Ryan Brock, WSF youth education coordinator. “Through these experiences, we’re helping cultivate the next generation of hunters, conservationists and responsible stewards of our wildlife and natural resources.”
The grant is made possible through WSF’s organizational endowment with the MidwayUSA Foundation. Each year, WSF is eligible to receive a cash grant equal to 5% of its endowment balance, providing a sustainable source of funding for youth shooting and education programs. As the endowment grows, so does the potential annual investment in these programs.

"Target shooting does more than build skilled, disciplined athletes—it inspires the next generation of dedicated conservationists.”
Supporters can contribute directly to WSF’s MidwayUSA Foundation endowment. Donations are tax-deductible, and thanks to the generosity of MidwayUSA founders Larry and Brenda Potterfield, the foundation’s operating expenses are covered, allowing 100% of donations to benefit participating youth shooting programs.
