Take Action to Save the Desert Refuge!

March 1, 2019

Dear Friends and Family,

The Nevada State Assembly and Senate will be holding hearings on Assembly Joint Resolution 2 and Senate Joint Resolution 3, that oppose the military expansion of the NTTR into more of our Desert National Wildlife Refuge.

Here’s how you can help the Refuge:

Show up at the Senate Hearing on Tuesday March 5th at 4 pm either in Room 2144 of the Legislative Building, 401 S. Carson St. in Carson City or in Las Vegas at the Grant Sawyer Building at 555 E. Washington Ave.

Show up at the Assembly Hearing on Wednesday March 6th at 4pm either in Room 3138 of the Legislative Building, 401 S. Carson St. in Carson City or in Las Vegas at the Grant Sawyer Building at 555 E. Washington Ave.

You do NOT have to speak, just sign in as supporting the resolutions. Your presence is enough to let the legislators know there is strong support. We will be asking supporters for a show of hands at both hearings.

Comment on line: https://www.leg.state.nv.us/App/Opinions/80th2019/
Type in one at a time AJR2 and then SJR3, for each, select “In Favor” and you can add additional comments and your personal information.

More Information: DNWR is the largest wildlife refuge in the lower 48 states, exhibiting a stunning diversity of plant and animal life and includes some of the best desert bighorn sheep habitat in the West. We must speak with a common voice to get the bi-partisan support needed to get the resolution passed, and help convince Congress and our Federal Delegation that Nevada values our Refuge, wildlife, our unique desert environment, and open access to our public lands.

As always, thank you for your support and advocacy for our Desert Bighorn Sheep!
